Every May, Baltimore becomes a key destination for the defense cybersecurity community as it hosts the AFCEA TechNet conference. This year’s event drew strong attendance despite having a leaner speaker lineup. Carley Welch, our networks and cybersecurity reporter, was there to cover the action.
The highlight of the conference came when Welch secured an exclusive interview with Katie Arrington, who at the time was performing the duties of the DoD CIO.
Their discussion covered groundbreaking plans to overhaul the department’s software procurement process and critical strategies for safeguarding the design of the next-generation F-47 fighter jet from potential cyber threats, including those posed by China.
